Ston: The Ancient Salt and Fortress Town

Ston is a unique, historical gem located at the narrow isthmus connecting the Pelješac Peninsula to the mainland. There is limited mooring along the town quay in Ston and Mali Ston, which can accommodate smaller yachts. Given the shallowness of the bay, many vessels choose to anchor further out in the deeper sections of the Mali Ston bay or secure mooring at nearby private restaurant piers, which often provide excellent, sheltered stops for diners.

The salt pans of Ston have been in operation since the 14th century, and the salt produced here is considered some of the finest in the Mediterranean.
